Perfect Pork Sausages

September 29, 2016 • 0 comments

As the nights turn chilly and the fall colors set in, nothing goes better on the grill than our sausage Sizzlers. Choose between Mild Italian, Kielbasa, and Regular (salt, pepper, brown sugar). These sausages are best topped with sauteed onions & garlic. Trick: Set your grill to medium heat and cook these sausages frozen (not fresh), turning them often to allow the fat to glaze the outsides.
  • Cook Time: minutes
  • Servings: 3-4

  • (1 pack) Regular Sausage (Links)
  • (1 bulb and 2 cloves) Onions & Garlic (minced)
  • (4) Hot dog buns (Potato rolls are best)

  1. Set grill to medium and let come to temperature;
  2. Mince onions & garlic, sautee until sweated down (if you can do that 2 hours before, then let simmer in a crock pot you're golden)
  3. Clean grill grates, and wipe with sliced end of an onion (non-stick-iness);
  4. Place FROZEN sausages on grill (they don't "juice" out as much and cause flair ups)
  5. Turn regularly (every 3-4 minutes) for an even cook and allow the fat to glaze the casing;
  6. Remove just before "done-ness" so they don't dry out.
  7. Top with sauteed onions and garlic, and mustard
  8. Our sizzlers are sold in packs of 4 ... just be aware, it's hard to just have one.
  9. Best served with mashed sweet potatoes, and a kale salad with a garlic-olive oil-balsamic dressing.
